The BBC Archive on Steam Trains

This one is about the IoM railways but there are many more.
"One disadvantage of train sets is that they aren't big enough.' So says Anthony Smith, who in this programme explores the history of the narrow-gauge steam locomotive network that has served the Isle of Man since the 1870s. Steam engines might have been phased out decades ago but, thanks to local volunteers, the Isle of Man's lines have been restored and preserved for the pleasure of thousands of holidaymakers each year."

China has world's fastest train



Err wow! Some train. Built in four years. The EMR has taken about that long so far but it's not quite a far on. I like the "servicing base". Want one! That reminds me, where is George?

Peak Rail

A small preservation line betwen Matlock and Rowsley in Derbyshire, part of the old line between Derby and Manchester,
http://www.peakrail.co.uk/index.htm Soon to have the 100 yards gap between Matlock mainline station and its terminus rejoined which will enable access to the entire network, enabling guest locos to make starring appearances.
